Can a Dual-Core processor both focus on a single program?

Ok, so I've recently got into PC gaming. My PC has a Intel Centrino Duo processor as 1.8GHz each. There are many games which list me as being able to play them PAST the recommended system requirements (according to srtest.com). Such games include Bioshock, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and others. But when I play such games even on the lowest setting, it is rare that they do not lag. I don't know why because I have no other program running in the background so I'm curious if it is because my dual-core is only having one processor running the game. I plan on getting M Effect for PC soon and I also meet the recommended requirements for that too. But I fear that it will also run slowly regardless, is it possible to have the program take advantage of BOTH processors? (BTW, I have Vista Home Premium)

istance Program Abuse?

I have a question regarding people on istance programs or people who know about the programs. I am not on any istance and am not looking to be on the programs. I just want to know what should be done about a situation on someone abusing the program or the rules of the program. My husbands brother and girlfriend have two kids together. They are not good parents what so ever and both refuse to work. Because of this they were going to be kicked out of their apartment because of no income so they got on housing istance. The children live in unsanitary conditions and they are always pawning their kids off on other people. They did the salvation army christmas gifts for christmas that are donated to needy families and even complained about what they received. They got gift cards for the two of them and the kids got toys and clothes. They get cash istance and about $600 a month for food istance. They car recently broke down and they got $1000 paid for which was the total cost to fix the car. I honestly don't believe that they should be on assistance just because they refuse to work. My brother in law used to drive a semi truck but lost his license for leaving the scene of an accident. Plus not to mention that they are on medical assistance. There is no reason that they cannot work. Tonight they even pawned their kids off so they could go drinking for new years. They don't bath their kids that often and have poor nutritional foods offered. (They get junk food and pop, and they are three and one year old) What would you do? And who would you contact to make an anonymous complaint. Isn't it true that if both are able bodied that they shouldn't get assistance and isn't it also true that its mainly for single mothers and that the assistance would be revoked if a male was living there?

Cause of (chronic) joint pain in 17 year old?

I'm almost 17 and have been having bad joint pain in both knees, hips and ankles for as long as I can remember. When I was young my doctor diagnosed them as growing pains, however they never went away. Over the past 5 months I have been in pain for hours almost every single day and NSAIDs are not helping. 2 weeks ago my mom took me to the doctor and he ordered a CBC, RF, CMP and ESR blood tests. They all came back normal so the doctor does not know what is causing this joint pain. He said I could go see some kind of joint specialist, however I don't think my mom will take me. My sat scores are math : 520 writing: 560 and critical reading : 540 but im taking it again ( I know baylor superscores the sat) I just took my ACT so no score yet, but I took it in 7th grade since I was in the duke tip program with no calculator and not knowing the math and made a 15 composite. I was a varsity swimmer two years, varsity water polo one year and dance team two years. I am in the health science slc and was in health science technology. I have 2 years lifeguarding and one year nannying. I am in trooper school, two years. Its a preschool amd im a teacher and make lesson plans and have to be interviewed to make it. I was also a volunterr swim coach for two years... I need to add up the hours its alot. I also used to read to kids at my library. My high school is very competitive at the beginning of jr year I was in the top 36% my grades were best this year and so hopefully when they release new rankings i'm under top 33% so I would be top third. What do you think my chances are of getting in. also tamu's dorms fill up quickly, so since I am not automatically accepted and wouldnt know until march would I have a good or bad chance of getting a dorm? Constant dreams about babies?

I've been dreaming about babies, children and pregnancy for the last two months. It's driving me nuts. Sometimes they're happy dreams, like the one where me and my husband (now boyfriend) are in the backyard playing with a little girl (around 3 or 4) named Lilah. Don't go in there without representation as you could be forced into something that you don't even realize has happened. The implications of what goes on in these "hearings" can be catastrophic so again find a lawyer that only does workman's compensation cases. Also make sure that you have read the workman's compensation booklet that your state puts out. By the way this is not an unusual thing to have the bills rejected especially when there is no push back from your side.

Like I opened the cover and one of the AAA batteries had this white powder-like substance on it. It got on the back of the cover and around the place where the batteries are held. i've had them since i was little, my sister complains of them too. Question about guitar pickups (humbuckers, single coil, active and pive)?

As far as I know (what little that is), humbuckers can be either active or pive while single coils can only be pive. I could be wrong, but who knows. Anyway, what is the best combination to have on your guitar if you want to go from either clic or modern metal to something soft and sweet that still has a good, unblemished tone to it? I've been eying one guitar that has three "Mega'Tron" humbuckers and you can use any combination of them at one time (the "Stump-o-matic"). I have also been looking at a guitar that has the HSH formation (humbucker, single, humbucker). What's going on there? Is the single coil used for more clean tones? Don't really know... Anyway, I've been hearing that some of the most popular humbuckers are Seymour Duncans (don't know what type, exactly) and EMG's (81 and 85). Any thoughts and opinions on this, or if the Mega'Tron ones are any good?

I don't know if there is different ways to do this, Or if I'm doing it wrong, But this is how I was taught to do Telnet. I get an IP from someone, Make sure they have Telnet, And go into Command prompt. Then I type "Telnet (IP address here)" And press enter. it usually doesn't work, but it did this time. It didn't say "Connection failed" Or anything. It just cleared my command prompt and put little smiley faces, Diamonds, and stars on the command prompt. I went to Pima Medical Institute for medical coding and billing, and I have had nothing but problems. When I first started attending, the financial aid person went through everything with me, and got me the funding for the payment of my tuition, books and fees. On the account paper work, it showed that my schooling (all together with taxes and fees included) was $8,900 and then I requested a stipend, which added an aditional $3000 to my tuition costs. Now at first right after I requested the stipend, I asked her everything was taken care of, and if she had all of my paperwork in order, and she said yes, I asked this several times and I always got a yes. But I had a few problems with her losing my paperwork or needing me to sign things that I had already signed. Then, when I graduated, I got the shaft majorly, because they had promised me lifetime job placement, and I did get put in an extern site that was hiring (even though my extern supervisor said I did an a+ job) and when I brought this up to the school staff and externship coordinators, they told me that it was "job placement ISTANCE" meaning that they werent obligated to get me a job, or even an interview, only to help me look for job listings.....So now I was stuck looking for a job in a horrible economy, and trying to pay student loans. Then shortly after I graduated, the financial aid person contacted me and told me that I hadnt paid all my tuition, I was confused because she had said it was completely taken care of 8 months ago. So I asked for an itemized statement and I couldnt really understand it, so it didnt help much. But she insisted that I owed the school $2000, so I filled out my FAFSA and she took the 2000 out to pay what was allegedly left of my tuition. Now it is almost a year later, and she has written me a letter, claiming that she needs to take money out of what is left of my pell grant to pay MORE tuition. Does this make any sense to anyone else? This school is really screwing me over in every way possible. She has already had me take out around 11,000 dollars in federal student aid, to pay tuition on an $8000 program. And I feel that they lied to me, and continue to do so. But I have no one to help me figure it out. I definitely cannot afford a lawyer, and I have tried all the schools staff for questions regarding all my issues, and they all shuffle me around or lie to me. What should I do?

How young is to young for a concert?

My 2nd grade son is a huge fall out boy fan. They are coming close to us in April and my husband and I really were considering going. My son is angry and really wants to go. It is a 5PM concert, but only floor tickets are available. I know he would appreciate it, but I worry the crowd will be to mature for him. Back tire area making noise?

I'm driving from indiana to vermont in less than two weeks and I just had my tires rotated yesterday and then my flex unit and sway bar replaced today. they did not see any problems with the car when they were looking over it other than those and they are now fixed but ever since my tires were rotated my back tires seem to be making a slight woo-woo-woo sound (if that makes sense) it's not driving bad and it does not feel off, but I'm not sure what this is, it stops when I'm stopped. The car is a 98 mystique with 52,000 miles on it. What could this be? I'm driving back home from school in less than two weeks(800miles/15 hours, my dad will be with me and i have triple a) and have little to no time to have my car looked at again since they have seen it twice in the last 24 hours, and today they did not say anything about anything else being broken.

Are there any veterinarians out there who can answer a question for me? (sick cat)?

my poor little guy has not eaten or drank on his own since wed night. i took him to the vet on friday morning and the vet did a VERY brief exam and said that since there were no other symptoms but the lethargy, lack of appetite, and fever (103.0) that he didnt think it was anything incredibly serious. he said he thought maybe he got into a cat fight and may have an infected wound or possibly because he is an in door out door cat ate something that was infected and it made him sick. he gave him a shot of amoxicillin and sent us home with some liquid amoxicillin. Ive been having to force feed him since late thursday evening and he still wont eat on his own. yesterday when i force fed he did not fight me at all. he was so weak that he just couldnt. today has been a completely different story. he's gotten well agitated from me syringe feeding him water and a mixture of plain yogurt, hills science diet wet food, and water. he has also switched spots more frequently and asked to go outside for the first time in 2 days. i brought him out for ten mins and kept a close eye on him as i figured it might lift his spirits. now my question is, is him getting angry about the feeding, asking to go outside, and moving about a bit more (and he had a bm this morning and went pee) a sign that he is starting to feel better? im just still worried because while logically i know these are all signs of him getting his strength back i still can put my mind at ease because he will not eat or drink on his own. how long would be the average time for a cat to start eating after antibiotics have been administered? should i still be concerned or does it sound like he is on the mend? any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you so much in advance.

Why am I dizzy?

How do the financial aid programs work at universities such as georgetown or dartmouth?

I'm going to be a sopre in the fall of '08 and I am becoming a little concerned about college. I'm not going to go into any details with what I do or anything about grades. I'm just curious as to how financial aid works. Do you just apply and get the aid throughout college and pay it back later on? If you aren't in a well-to-do position, do your parents have to contribute to paying the tuition and etc? I've heard that if your parents do not make more than 45-50 grand per year, they aren't expected to help pay off the debt. Please leave as many details as possible: websites, ideas, info, the works. VERY strong poem with strong words and it was a pleasure to read. I know what your trying to say with this poem, its very detailed and excellent vocabulary, but what i would suggest is the ending, play around with it a little bit, if there was a happy ending what would it be? I think if you played around with the poem, keeping the original one and changed the start or the end and see which one would work out for you best. I know people say its weak, i understand why, its because your just writing a style and not really YOUR style. I think if you add uniqueness to this it will make this better. We have ALL heard that saying "the end of the tunnel" but mabye you can just like i said, play with your words and see if there are better things.

Stop wasting your time yzing an arm touch or conversation. If a guy really likes you - he will make it so obvious - you dont have to play guessing games.
