One of the batteries in my graphing calculator has this white powder-ish stuff around it?

Like I opened the cover and one of the AAA batteries had this white powder-like substance on it. It got on the back of the cover and around the place where the batteries are held. My calculator works good. I dropped it linoleum once. Is this leaking battery acid that has dried? Should I replace the battery and clean up the powder? I touched the stuff unknowingly already.
