If you have the # of chromosomes, how can you find the haploid and diploid #?

The usual number of chromosomes in an individual's somatic (body) cells is the 2n, or diploid number. In humans, that is 46 chromosomes, 23 coming from the mother and 23 coming from the father. When the individual makes gametes by meiosis, the gametes have the n, or haploid number of chromosomes.
