Who's paying tensions?

To be honest, the whole "bride's family pays for everything" is not tradition anymore. In fact, it hasn't been tradition since pretty much the dinosaurs roamed the earth. I'm pretty sure she'll help you out with what she said, but I'd start saving as well if I were you, just because whoever pays gets a lot of the say (if she's so "traditional" she might use the whole martyr act, "Well, I shouldn't have to be paying for *anything* and out of the kindness of my heart I am, so I should have far too much say" and if your FH isn't speaking up now and he's "traditional" too, then he may just agree). Don't worry, it totally is not the norm anymore, your family's got nothing to be embarred about. Your FH should be kind of embarred that he thought that still happened. Good luck.
